about

about the book
symphony of the moth came from endless hours spent journaling—a quiet, necessary effort to survive myself. i’ve always been someone who feels everything a little too deeply, and the pieces in this book are pulled directly from real, lived moments that carved out who i am today.
if my first release, book of love, was my perspective on love, symphony of the moth is my relationship with grief: a formless, heavy, and suffocating thing that shapes everything it touches.

specs
  • 120 pages
  • a collection of original poetry and prose
  • personal photography scattered throughout

behind the pages

many of the pieces in symphony of the moth are adapted from personal journal entries dating back to 2019. together, they follow the rocky path of trying to navigate young adulthood while carrying a chronic weight of grief.
it isn’t all heavy, though; there are softer, more lighthearted moments scattered throughout the pages. writing sweet, one note romance has never really been my forte. it always ends up a little dark, a little weary, and maybe a little too honest.

how'd we get here?

when i published my first book, book of love, i made a lot of small mistakes. i was younger and in a rush. looking back, it probably would’ve taken just as long as this project if i had really slowed down to get everything right. this time around, i’ve taken my time to make sure every detail is actually ready.

the first time, i funded the entire creation, production, and fulfillment straight out of my own pocket. it worked out okay in the end, but i wanted to try a gentler approach to help fill in the gaps before the book is out in the world.

i’ve been actively working on symphony of the moth for the better part of five years now, and a few of the pieces in this collection are pushing a decade old (which feels a little terrifying to admit). i just hope it finds a meaningful place on your bookshelf. <3

timeline

as it stands right now, i’m aiming for the end of october for books to be printed, packed, and ready to ship. giving myself this runway ensures everything is handled with care, fully prepared, and done right.
i do still work a full-time job, which inevitably limits how many hours a day i can pour into this project; as much as i wish I could make this my entire world 24/7. keeping this timeline realistic means i can actually deliver something i'm proud of without sacrificing the quality of the final product.
