Introduction

"You ever wondered what happens to dead pet games?"

When a beloved pet dies, mourning is normal. When a digital pet dies, its pet site goes down, or you lose contact with them due to a lost password or email, who hosts their funeral? By the way, I hear you. If you ain't into flowery words and just want to check out what we're serving, click here to be taken to our products. I won't blame you.

"Pay no attention to the man behind the screen."

WHO ARE YOU?

I'm a nobody, a simple businessman who's here to sell products from a pet game that's long dead...some say, never existed in the first place. I'm selling pins of beloved lost souls, shakers, and maybe even a few photos from the real world outside. (You remembered what that looked like, right?)

You may call me the "Creature Collector." Don't worry about my story. Instead let's focus on those who disappeared into that terrible BLUE HELL.

"Even if he's gone now you still remember how he greeted you when you came home from school. He couldn't tell you, but you were the best part of his life too you know?"

WHAT IS A BLUE HELL?

A BLUE HELL is a term for falling under the map in a video game. In this state, you often fall into an endless blue void. Digital pets live in a digital realm, and when that realm disappears they fall into BLUE HELL. It's not your fault you lost contact with your pets. Life gets in the way. Passwords lost, computers corrupted, and by the time you remember your old digital friend, the website he lived on disappeared, closed years ago.

"Even when you lost the password to your account, they waited."

But, if you feel guilty, don't be. No matter what anyone else tells you, your digital pets loved you until the very end. Don't mourn what has been loss, celebrate the time you had together.

It is only then that you'll be able to accept the BLUE HELL that awaits.

Our Offerings

"Think about adopting a friend in need."

You might be asking yourself. Creature Collector, where did you find all these washed up souls? Well that's a good question my friend. I found these in an old dusty warehouse and took a little bit of pity on them. Imagine a world where you were made to be a companion to someone. To dangle on their bag or be handed as a gift to a friend, and then that just didn't happen. A pet game shuts down. A digital universe ended. A BLUE HELL made. A friend for mankind with no companion in sight.

Is it weird to feel pity for these simple beings with no souls? To want to drag them out of their BLUE HELL and get them into the hands of people who never even remembered them? I get it. It's weird, but I'm hoping you can understand. Everyone belongs somewhere. Why don't you have a bit of mercy for these forgotten friends? Their world ended. Maybe they can live in yours instead?

"His status says he's starving to this very day."

Q: The species says it's a burrisk. What is that?
A: A burrisk is a type of dog that only spawns due to grief or trauma.
A dead pet, a broken vase, even a stubbed toe. In these moments of pain a burrisk shows up to feed. This one in particular is summoned when someone remembers losing, or abandoning a digital pet.

Q: Why do burrisks do this?
A: I don't know dude,
I don't ask why tigers eat deer. Same logic.

"An innocent victim of a petty rage quit."

Q: Why is that dog long?
A:
That's a blort.

Q: What is a blort?
A:
<The salesman looks at you funny, as if you should know what a blort is. He doesn't answer your question.>

Q: I'm serious.
A: Well, dogs are a subspecies of blort.
All dogs are blorts, but not all blorts are dogs, if that helps. <It doesn't, but you can't find the power in yourself to question him more.>

"Despite being exalted, I don't think that god even won that war. What a waste."

Q: What war did this pet die for?
A: I'll be honest,
I've watched that war go on for years. I don't think anyone was really winning, especially now that their digital world ended. All this sacrifice and for what? To have a plaque no one will ever look at?.......You know, despite it all, I bet you this little guy still thinks he's a hero.

"Ask less questions. Please. No answer I can give will satisfy."

Q: What is that....?
A: Those are pets.

Q: What is that RED THING in the shaker?
A: That my friend, is a shrimp, which is a pet.
If you don't want it in there, this shaker is specifically designed so you can pop it right open and remove it.

Q: WHO IS THE RED MAN IN THE SHAKER?
A: Sigh, ok, you got me red handed.
This isn't a capsule pet shaker. Look, when I found this thing in the back of the warehouse, it was labeled as a "Containment chamber for the RED MAN." No one is going to buy that, so we went to the drawing board. Did a little rebranding. Added some cute little pets into it. Now it's something even your grandmother can love.

Q: Can you remove the RED MAN from the shaker before I buy it?
A: No. No way in the world I'm doing that.
Every shaker comes with a RED MAN. I will not haggle with you folks. This is HIS containment chamber and I just don't feel like I got the right to mess with the laws of nature here. Look.....like I said, this shaker is designed specifically so you can open it then add and remove any charms you want. You want the RED MAN out? YOU get the RED MAN out.

Q: Will something bad happen if I remove the RED MAN?
A:
He's made of acrylic for goodness sake. Look. Maybe he'll curse you, or grant you a wish, I don't know, but there is no way in the world a little acrylic man could possibly hold enough power to do major damage. Yeah sure, whatever, they DID personally make him a containment chamber, but maybe he was just cursing people with bad lotto numbers or something, ok? All I'm saying is that maybe if you release him he'll be so thankful he'll grant you a little passive luck.

Q: Then why won't YOU remove him from his chamber?
A: I am not accepting anymore questions on this matter.

"What is it isn't the right question. It should be what WAS it."

Q: What is this?
A: Whatever it was, it wasn't worth remembering.
Instead I ask you this, what could it be for you?

Q: You expect me to pay $9 for two squiggles?
A: Hey, hey, hey.
I would never expect you to pay $9 for two squiggles.....but I would expect you to pay $9 for two very attractive and mesmerizing squiggles. I'm a big fan of the abstract actually. Frankly I wish I had more abstract pins to line up, but I ran the numbers. Abstract is out of style. Oh well, maybe one day it'll be in again.

"And yet that memory haunts you to this day."

Q: How is your day?
A: I- what? Hey don't ask about the salesman here!
I'm just an object on the payroll that's here to peddle goods. I'm less interesting than the poor souls around here. I mean look at this thing! An eldritch abomination from the internet! Can't a man sell a few monsters without being asked his backstory? Geez!

"Best product to ever come out of ZooCorp. Just about everyone has it."

I'm about to show you the best item we have in stock. Confused? Don't be. It's a photocard holder! Ok, stay with me here. Close your eyes and imagine this. You just won an argument on the internet. Really big accomplishment for a person like yourself. You take a screenshot of it, print it out, and bam! Pop it right into this photocard holder. Now you can hit the streets, a trophy from the internet around your keys, on your bag, in your car!

All your friends look over and they nod in approval. "I'm big on the internet" you say with a smile, holding up a photo of your post that got 1000 reblogs.

Not your thing? That's ok. Take a screenshot of your favorite living pet game, with your favorite digital pet and slap that in there. Show the world you love your little guy and would never, ever, say, abandon it to starve on a forgotten account.

Q: What size photocards does it hold?
A: Now before you ask any of your weird que-
oh it's actually a normal one for once. This photocard holder holds 55 mm × 85 mm or 5.5 cm × 8.5 cm cards.

Q: Does it come with a photocard?
A:
It will come with one default photocard included.

Q: What is the included photocard?
A:
That's a surprise.

Stretch Goals

"Wouldn't you like to dream a little?"

Allow me to to introduce you to some of our stretch goals. Little dreams I'd like to unleash on this world. More details about them will be shown as they're unlocked. If you'd like to ask questions about them, such as "Do they still love me?", "Do they remember who I am?" or "Is this UV or screen print?", feel free to ask no matter how silly the question is in the community tab.

"You were best friends, remember?"

Q: Can I get my friend back?
A: Only an echo of them in the form of this pin.

"It was never meant to be."

Q: Did they ever want to be alive?
A: It's absurd to want something you've never had the concept of in the first place.

"You have it all wrong. They picked you, not the other way around."

Q: Can a pony help me if my life is too stressful?
A: They can, they can do it a hundred times over, but you must hope they have picked you.

"Wiggling their way across endless pages."

Q: Are they ██████████?
A:
As long as you don't eat them you should be fine. (Please do not eat them.) The washi tape is 20mm tall and 10 meters long.

"Have you seen this person in a dream perhaps?"

Q: Who is this person?
A:
There's a whole story I'm not telling you about. Don't worry, it doesn't matter. Maybe if you ask enough questions and look around a little closer you'll find the story you're looking for.

"Beep Beep Beep Beep...."

Q: Has his suffering come to an end, at least? - DefilerWyrm
A: When the battery finally died and it fell into that HELL OF BLUE, it lived in a world where there was no longer a need to beg to the gods for food and entertainment. In a way it entered a state of relaxation. It no longer needed these things, but when it thought of its past, it did think to itself how it wanted these things regardless. Like a person with a missing piece of its collection, it was not harmed by what was gone, but it did long for it.

Q: Is its soul eaten away by the battery acid rotting inside? - Vileworm
A: As acid ripped through its soul, it was changed slowly but surely. At first it tried to return to its original shape as that is what people always knew it as. It didn't want to be "broken" by the corrosion, but as it was deformed more and more, a moment of hopelessness came over it. "I am not the same as I was." followed by a small moment of hope as it cried out "But this does not matter as long as someone is there for me." In that moment, maybe it realized that even if it fought against its breaking down body that it would not have what it truly wanted, a companion at its side.

Q: If I replace the battery, will it still be the same creature that loved me? - Trashmana
A: It will. Like a man who nearly died of thirst in a desert it will not blame you (the water) for not existing in its path no matter how much it begged for your existence. Do be warned though. It will have a new outlook on life. As it drinks from the waters it fears a day where the oasis dries up, and it is left in the heat again. So in truth dear customer, the question is if you will be the same person in the past. Will you let it know a desert without water again?

"And on Christmas day too...."

Q: What happens if only one of the Exalted Dupes' heads develops an allergy or just decides to go on a new fad diet?LeeAnn
A: While all three share the same allergies, they do not share the same social outlook on their world. The middle head who is unable to see much but the sky above it refuses to eat birds, and when the other two catch a bird within their maws it will do all in its power to try and stop the death of such a dear creature to it. The other two heads do not get it. It is funny how much a change as simple as being a middle child could impact one's world views.

Q: Do its heads tend to squabble or are they united in their fate? - Onion
A: There was a point where they squabbled. They blamed each other for what happened. "If just 2 of us were born we'd never be tossed in this BLUE HELL." They'd bite, and nip, and finally one day they were tired. It was only after they had scarred each other......themselves......did they realize none of them were the issue, but the world that had flagged them as "Wrong" for simply existing that truly was the problem.

Q: Do they ever think of their littermates? - RiversOblivion (Gryffin)
A: They only had one litter mate, their eldest sibling. Despite all that had happened, they have never hated her. Each one imagines a world where their eldest leads them forth, and they all joke that she was born only 1 millisecond before the others. When they sleep, they wish goodnight to each head, and then finally the sister they only met for minutes before they were wiped away from the pet game. They hope she's doing ok and never blames herself for their digital death.

"You wouldn't buy a salesmen's trauma would you?"

Q: So how did your burrisk get summoned? Or is that personal? It's very on brand here, which makes me curious. - SUNSERAPH
A: You can't just ask a man where his trauma comes from..... Look. I'll keep it brief. BLUE HELL exists in the digital space, but it exists in reality as well. You ever wake up one day and realize you've fallen through the cracks of society? That when your name comes up, not one person can recall who you are?......I'm a nobody, a salesmen and nothing more. Don't even worry about it.

"Oh whatever did I do wrong to be unloved? It thought."

Q: Who abandoned such a rare pet and why? - Chalcedony
A: A person who cared for looks and nothing more. Digital beings cannot see themselves like you or I. In its world a rarer number surely was the answer it was seeking for its love. It braved experiment after experiment to be formed into a shape of a number it could not see. Turned into an unlovable thing. Dedication wasted. The value of a pet is not just in its rarity, but in what we want to see.

Q: What ever happened to the lab and the scientist who built the ray, anyway? It's nothing like a beloved companion, did anyone care? - Battat
A: No punishment ever came to scientist, nor the owner of the pet. Life continued as if it was normal. The failure never knew anything was wrong. It couldn't read signs, and while its shape warped it accepted all the pain because the one it trusted was there. It never questioned why it was happening. Surely no one you trust would ever hurt you after all, it dreamed foolishly.

"It only exists as a broken hotlinked image on another website now."

Important Note: This is a pin with two versions, blue and pink. You will pick which version you want during the survey.

Q:  Can it remember its home? Can it recognize anyone/anything? - Bee & Creature_taker
A: It doesn't remember its home. It's world is shattered, and while it tries to remember its connections, it fails to. All it knows is that it is gone, and that it must cling to its final resting place. Once its broken image is removed, maybe even BLUE HELL won't be home for it.

Q: Is there any way to save it? It reminds me of the pets I longed for from other’s accounts. - Clancy & Manu
A: .....You want to save a pet from BLUE HELL? I must be honest, I've never considered the idea......You know what pal, put a pin in that. I think you might just be some sort of genius. I'll draw up some plans and get back to you all in a few days on this kind of crazy thinking. Maybe we can drag a pet out of BLUE HELL.

"A plush of a being who has been your friend before you were even born."

Q: How big is it?
A: 12 inches long.

Q: Does it love me?
A: Yes.

Q: No matter what I've done?
A: No matter what you've done.

"There's a whole world of possibilities in the future, both real and digital."

I can tell you're hankering at the doors, asking for new goals to reach. I'll think about it. How about for now you pick up a free pony on the house?
Edit

Items we Found in the Back

"I got like 20 of these things "Watching me sleep" and I'm tired of it. Please take them."

I got two absolutely adorable plushies that have been tormenting me in storage for months. They're cute looking things but I don't got a buyer for them. You might ask me "Creature Collector, where did you get these things?" and my answer to that is "Where I got the rest of all of these products, now stop asking questions and start adding it on to your purchase."

That first guy there? That's called an "Arise." It's based on an Alebrije, a fantastical animal that appears in your sleep. It's 8 inches tall, 10 with ears. It's perfect for supporting you by sitting in your lap while you work or staring at you from across the room. These things have an effect on cats. What effect is that, I don't know, all I know is that the first time I put it in my house my cat glared at it with such passion that I was scared a fight was going to break out. They're both fine now so whatever effect the arise has wears off eventually.

The other one is a cekeki plushie. It is just a little above 17 inches long. Let me tell you now, this thing is dense. I got multiple reviews from past customers saying that they love waving this thing around like a weapon and using it as a headrest on long airport rides. Look, that's not what it was designed for but if that's what you want to do I'm all for it as long as you get this thing out of my storage.

Both items are made with minky fabric and have beads in the bottom of them to keep them upright. Unlike the rest of the items I'm selling please note there's a limited quantity of these, and once they sell out the likelihood they'll ever come back is pretty low. So for the love of god, please get these out of my house.

About the Keepers

"My partner Flipper is on the left. I'm on the right."

Look, I'm not a chatty person, and I'm sure most of you have tuned out by now so I'll make this quick. I'm Creature Collector (Atom) and my partner is Flipper (ToadsTown). We're not newcomers here. Pins, plushies, keychains, you name any common trinket and we both either had our hands in it, or are planning to have our hands in it.

"If we get far enough into this all, maybe we'll be able to do a re-release of the first pin set we've ever worked on."

If you're interested in Flipper's past works feel free to check out his Bluesky and Twitter, or follow his Etsy to pick up past merchandise and wait for B-grades to pop up. If you're interested in my past work, well, bad news pal. You'll have to seek it out yourself. Unlike Flipper I'm no social butterfly, but don't worry, I promise it's not that hard to find. You'll know you've found my work once you realize that this little pit you've come across is much deeper than it seems.

About Backerkit

BackerKit operates on a "Pledge now, pay later" system. This means you will not be charged until the campaign concludes, AND it's reached its goal. After the campaign ends, backers will receive a survey where they will be able to provide their shipping address, preferences if they've chosen any customizable backing tiers (IE: pick three pins), and even any add-ons they'd like to throw on to their pledge last minute.

This means you're allowed to change your pledge amount and rewards at any time before the campaign ends. If you need to withdraw from the campaign for any reason, do so then. Once the project concludes, we will be unable to provide refunds as all funds raised will be going right into production costs.

PLEASE NOTE: Shipping is not included with your pledge and will be collected once you fill out your BackerKit survey, based on your location.

For more campaign information, or if you have additional questions about BackerKit, feel free to check the FAQ.
