Junk City is a neo-noir mystery Mausritter setting, a sandbox campaign set against the backdrop of a vast, sprawling city. Play begins in the aftermath of a magical disaster: a secret gate to the Faerie lands has exploded, scattering highly charged magical shards across the streets. A prominent mouse, someone dear to the players, is missing. The city is torn between four major factions, each with conflicting goals, dark secrets, and their own reasons for seeking control of the Fae shards. Players will navigate these competing interests, untangle conspiracies, and decide who, if anyone, to trust in the struggle for Junk City’s future. And in the end, try to bring their friend home.
Map of Junk City
The Districts From the glittering paranoia of The Crust, where nobles sip tea under flickering chandeliers, to the tangled slums of The Nest, where walls are paper-thin and hope thinner still, Junk City is a sprawl of contradictions. In Metalmouth Valley, neon lights and roaring RC races mask the stink of crime and ambition, while the industrial inferno of Picker’s Pile grinds endlessly under Wreck’s iron paw. Beyond it all lie the Outskirts and Salvage Beach, a poisoned wilderness where outcasts, inventors, and mad prophets scrape at the edges of the world. Each district hides secrets, and every shadow whispers of the shards that shattered the city’s fragile peace.

Adventure Sites
Nine shards. Nine places where the city cracked open. Each adventure site is a story in itself — a fragment of the catastrophe that broke the Faerie Gate and scattered its magic across Junk City. Together, they form the heartbeat of the campaign: places of danger, intrigue, and the faint shimmer of impossible power. Each is a stepping stone towards solving the bigger mystery.
Hobnob with the enchanted elite inside The Piano Polaris, but mind the wine; Cantor Polaris never pours without purpose.
Expose (or bury!) the city’s darkest scandals in The Truth Machine printing-press, before the ink drowns the city whole.
Burn rubber and pride in 2 Remote 2 Control, where only one mouse crosses the finish line alive.
Bet everything, even your sanity, at Cheese Gambit car casino; the house always eats first.
Face fever, faith, and decay within Puma 242, a sickness that spreads faster than hope.
Climb into the rusting skeleton of The Crane and try not to get pulled skyward with the metal storm.
Fan the flames of revolution in Tools Down at Wreck Ore or get melted down in the name of progress.
Descend into lab where dreams are harvested by theUndermind.
Brave the flooded tunnels of the Swirling Sewers and pray the current doesn’t wake what sleeps below.
Guidebook (36-pages) detailing Junk City’s factions, key NPCs, districts, streets, shops and more.
9 trifold adventure postcards featuring incredible adventure sites such as a decommissioned caterpillar crane, an abandoned Volkswagen car turned into a casino, a rusty printing machine made into a factory and an old grand piano
A sealed adventure envelope that should only be opened if players are able to assemble all shards
9 item card sheets containing lots of new items, spells, and special conditions.
A nine-piece puzzle depicting the shards.
Player-facing map of Junk City, and race maps for remote control cars.
5 character record envelopes meant for players to store their character sheets and item cards safely between sessions.
5 character standees including 4 faction-leader standees and 1 party standee.
It’s a huge and dangerous world out there, and it does not look kindly on a small mouse. But if you are very brave and very clever and just a bit lucky, you might be able to survive. And if you survive long enough, you might even become a hero amongst mice.
Mausritter Core Boxset
Mausritter is created by Isaac Williams (Losing Games), developed by Andre Novoa (Games Omnivorous) and published by Exalted Funeral. It is the 2021 Gold ENNIE winner for Best Family Game and constantly lauded as the "biggest smallest indie RPG in the world". A rules-lite fantasy game in which players will take take up the sword and don the whiskers of brave mouse adventurers in a huge and dangerous world.
Brutally fast, equally flavourful character creation gets you playing your mouse adventurer as quickly as possible.
Physical card-based inventory system minimises bookkeeping and maximises hard choices.
Dangerous and evocative magic system with 15 spells to find and cast.
Generous toolbox of resources provides the Game Master with plenty of support to create their own mouse-scale sandbox adventures.
Huge and ancient, a mountain of stone. It stood even when the most wizened of mouse elders were young. The Estate dominates the landscape for miles around.
Nestled under the floorboards, the mouse settlement of Brickport, is beset by trouble on every side. Above, huge creatures pace. The vicious cat lord Sabrina jealously guards her domain. Outside, in the fields and pond and orchard, evenstranger events are afoot. Can you help save the settlement before it’s too late, or will it be swallowed by the chaos that surrounds it?
What is The Estate?
The Estate was the first official supplement for Mausritter, developed after a very successful crowd-funding campaign in 2021. A new print-run is now available through this campaign.
The box set contains a guidebook (8-pages), player-facing maps, ten item cards sheets and ten adventure sites, each by a different author & illustrator. Each adventure site highlights the distinctive style of its author, while fitting into a cohesive whole. The adventure sites can all be run as part of a campaign set around The Estate, introduced into your own setting, or run as a one-shot.
