Project Update: Second Pre-Launch Update for Midnight in Jubilation

An image of a male-presenting figure with hair swept back into a low ponytail and a thin goatee beard. They are smirking to themself as they look off to the side. To their right is a soundwave pattern.
Jamie: "Good evening, Night Stalkers and Sleep Talkers, you’re listening to Jubilation Radio with your host, Jamie Danno.

I want to start by apologising to our listeners for all those technical troubles we had during our last broadcast. I know a lot of folks left us voicemails afterwards complaining about the high-pitched feedback that sounded annoyingly like someone screaming. Well, our Audio Engineer Jodie has been hard at work squashing those pesky bugs, so I’m sure it won’t happen again.

We've got a lot to catch you up on tonight, so let’s dive right in to our community updates! Resident Dorian Blackwood is thrilled to report that all the digital documents associated with their game, Midnight in Jubilation, have been reviewed by their accessibility consultant. Which I’m told means that all the documents, including special content they’ve prepared for their campaign’s stretch goals, are now screen reader compatible! Great work Dorian.

Hm? What’s this? My wonderful producer is waving at me, which can only mean we’ve got something fun to share with you all."

Ana: "There’s a very eager caller waiting to talk to you."

Jamie: "Oh, I bet there is! Let’s say hello, shall we? Hi there, caller, you’re live on Jubilation Radio."

Zathi: "Heeeey Zath-Heads, it’s Zathi—your fave Jubilation resident. Coming to you live on Jubilation Radio!"

Jamie: "Oh. Zathi."

Zathi: "Heeey Jamie, so great to talk to you again! You know I tried calling last night like a couple of times, but then there were the tech issues and stuff. And then you never even played my voicemails after the break!"

Jamie: "Haha, yeah. There were so many of them, how could I possibly choose just one?"

Zathi: "Awwww! You flatterer! Anyway, I wanted to say Ana did a great job of letting folks know all about The Cursed Flames by Revel Tales—"

Jamie: "Ow." [-1 Cope]

Zathi: "Hm?"

Jamie: "Wow! What a great project! Listeners should definitely check it out."

Zathi: "Oh, totally for sure! But I also wanted to let all my Zath-Heads know that the fun doesn’t stop there. Jubilation is a hot-spot for creative types like myself. We’ve got Dorian, we’ve got Revel Tales, and—AND we’ve got Natasja van Gestel’s upcoming campaign too!"

Jamie: "Oh god. I mean, oh my goodness! Tell us all about it, Zathi."

Zathi: "Thanks! I will!"

A banner featuring an image of a figure curled up inside a gently glowing pool, surrounded on all sides by spirits draped in flowing robes. The text reads: "Portent. Overcome your curse of misfortune in this Shinto-inspired solo journaling RPG. Follow today."
"Portent is a solo journaling RPG in which you use a tarot deck to play your story. Meet all sorts of creatures and face all sorts of challenges in the world of Kaminari, where every stone and every river might uncover something divine. In this Shinto-inspired game that mixes cozy and creepy, you were born with a curse of misfortune.

But as fate would have it, you are also one of the few people able to see and hear the deities living all around you! As you help these kami accomplish tasks as their vessel, you gain their aid and protection while gradually uncovering the truth behind your curse. Portent launches as part of Pocketopia 2026, offering the game and extras like an accompanying tarot deck and a concept art book! Follow Portent today on Backerkit and get a free art print with your pledge!

Also, while Natasja has plans to work with a cultural consultant as part of the game development process, enquiries from consultants are welcome."

Jamie: "So...so cool! I could practically see it all right in front of me, even though this is radio." [3 Sociability Effort Points spent to maintain composure on air. Total Success, no Complications]

Zathi: "Right? When I think about how amazing we creatives are, I get all choked up too! I really like the name of Natasja’s game, you know? It sounds so…significant!"

Jamie: "Haha, yeah. Like it’s foreshadowing something."

Zathi: "Huh?"

Jamie: "It’s like it’s a sign. A portent."

Zathi: "Oh! It’s just Portent, no 'a' in front."

Jamie: "Well thanks for calling us, Zathi, but it looks like we’ve got a few other callers on the line so I’m afraid we’re going to have to start wrapping this up—"

Zathi: "Oooh! Can I do a song reccie? I’ve got the perfect song for my outro!"

Jamie: "My oh-so-wonderful producer is giving me the thumbs up, so I couldn’t say no even if I really, really wanted to."

Zathi: "Sweeet! That’s all for me tonight Zath-Heads, but I totally recommend you give Human Fly by The Cramps a listen, and don’t forget to like and subscribe! Oh! Oh! No wait, what’s that thing you always say, Jamie? Don’t tell me! You’ve been listening to Jubilation Radio; we are here and so are you!"
