Project Update: Cross Collaboration Update - Midnight in Jubilation

An image of a male-presenting figure with hair swept back into a low ponytail and a thin goatee beard. They are smirking to themself as they look off to the side. To their right is a soundwave pattern.

Jamie: "Good evening, Night Stalkers and Sleep Talkers, you’re listening to Jubilation Radio with your host, Jamie Danno.

Well, well listeners, you’ve blown us away with your…let’s say enthusiasm to hear more community updates. That’s right, we’ve been receiving some very…enthusiastic messages from people wanting to know more about the cross collaboration between resident Dorian Blackwood, of Blackwood Press, and Free for All Media.

I’d like to gently remind our listeners that if you have anything you want to share with us, it’s always best to call us here at Jubilation Radio Station. We’d much prefer that than you leaving highly personal messages on the windscreen of my car. Or nailed to my front door. [-1 Cope. No Cope remaining.]

But I know you’re all champing at the bit for this next bit—haha! So, without further ado, let’s introduce tonight’s very special guest. Say hello Dorian!”

Dorian: “Hi there Jubilation. My name is Dorian Blackwood and my pronouns are they/them. I’m a disabled creator with a love of tabletop games, or TTRPGs for short. Thank you to everyone who has followed the teaser page for my project. I’m so excited to share this game with you all.”

Jamie: “And we’re excited for you Dorian. Now, what’s this cross collaboration all about?”

Dorian: “Well, Free for All Media is the game studio behind My Very Own Forest Spirit, an innovative RPG inspired by the likes of My Neighbor Totoro and Stroll-Playing Games. It’s a game of imagination and wonder, which you play whilst out in nature. You can play it alone, or with friends.  I actually used the playtest version in my backyard and can definitely see ways to tailor gameplay to suit your individual needs.”

A banner image showing a book titled "My Very Own Forest Spirit”. Beside it is text which reads: “My Very Own Forest Spirit: A game of imagination and empathy. Coming soon to Pocketopia on Backerkit.” In the bottom right corner a person with a backpack walks along behind an inquisitive looking mushroom spirit that is about hip height.

Jamie: “Mmph!” [-1 Cope. No Cope left, gained 1 Harm]

Dorian: “Uh…Jamie, are you okay? You’ve got a little—is that blood?”

Jamie: “Apologies listeners, I was trying to bite my tongue so I didn’t interrupt Dorian there from sheer excitement, and must have bit down a little too hard. Haha…ha.”

Dorian: “Should I keep going, or…?”

Jamie: “Please. I don’t think our listeners would allow either of us to leave this studio until this interview is done.”

Dorian: “I’m honestly a bit overwhelmed by the amount of support my game has received so far. We’re so lucky to live in a place like Jubilation where community is everything. The town is everything. We are everything.”

Jamie: “That’s definitely what I meant too. But back to the cross-collab…”

Dorian: “Right. So, the premise of the game is that our world—once drained of its energy, is slowly beginning to wake up again, and spirits are coming back to the land to heal it. As part of the cross collaboration, I’ve provided descriptions of some unique spirits you can meet. For folks who back both Midnight in Jubilation and My Very Own Forest Spirit at our set tiers, you’ll receive this exclusive content.

While our games might have quite different genres, I think we’re connected in that these are imagination-rich, solo-ready experiences that you can really make your own. I hope listeners will check out not only our games, but the other incredible projects going live in a little under a week when Pocketopia launches.”

Jamie: “I’m sure they will. But my producer is merciful—I mean, mindful of our schedule and is indicating it’s time we go to our song break. Dorian, I believe you had a recommendation for us?”

Dorian: “I do! It’s Dark Entries by Bauhaus.”

Jamie: “Great. And remember, you’re listening to Jubilation Radio. We are here, and so are you."
