Project Update: Post-Campaign Update - Survey Drafting in Progress
I’m back at it after some much needed rest!
I have started making room for new content in the layout for Midnight in Jubilation and been beavering away on the admin side of things. I’m hoping to get the initial survey test out in a few days before the final version goes live. But I also wanted to give folks time to check their card details, held payments from their banks, etc, as we still have a few payments pending. In the meantime, I am also setting up the pre-order store! After chatting to BackerKit support, I’ve opted to try the beta version that allows me to use pledges like I did during the campaign. This means once it goes live, folks who use the pre-order store should get the same survey experience.
After testing a few things in the layout, I’ve decided on a fun way to get even more playability out of the names that backers can nominate through their surveys. This was one of our stretch goals unlocked during the campaign! Names for people will be used for those who have gone missing/returned, births, deaths, marriages, divorces, annulments—even rescinding notices of death. Or any other way you’d like to use them in your game. You can also choose to provide the name of a pet instead, particularly if you want some of that Pet Sematary atmosphere. But of course this is optional! You can always opt out of providing a name if you'd prefer.
For those of you who also backed my wonderful cross-collaboration partner and are eligible for those rewards, get excited! In their latest update, Free for All Media shared a little preview of the art for one of our cross-collab spirit cards!
I had a hard time choosing the song recommendations for this update, as I have a few good ones set aside! But eventually these three won the top spot. Wave by Patti Smith, Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods, and Wrapped Around Your Finger by Unwoman.
Dorian.
