Campaign Ended, Thank You All So Much!
My first crowdfunder has officially ended! We managed to raise more than 1000 euros, reaching 4 stretch goals. This means funding for 10 bespoke artworks to depict the treasures of the book, and ~33 community copies (essentially, free copies of the product for anyone to grab).

Current State of the Project

Half of the art pieces have been completed, and I'm currently waiting for the artist to deliver on the last 5. The treasure design is almost completed, and I have started the layout process. While doing layout, I have started creating complications, titles, and projects related to the treasures. I'm doing this to fill up some empty page spots, because I am avoiding splitting up the text of a treasure over more than one page, but also because it's very fun! I now wish I had come up with this idea before the project started, maybe it would have drawn in more people. Oh well!

What's Next

If all goes according to schedule (but when does it ever?), the art and layout will be completed in the next 30 days. During this time I will also be play testing some of the weirder treasures, and I will keep updating the contents of the book until July ~20th. If the project is complete by then, I will send it out and start agonizing over typos and misaligned text boxes. Business as usual. If the project hasn't been completed by that time, you will sadly have to wait until the end of the summer to get your hands on it, as I won't have access to my computer until the first days of September. I hope it doesn't come to this, but this is my first big project so who knows... In any case, I will keep you all updated.

If you want to see more behind-the-scenes stuff, come say hello in discord (either the MCDM server, or the Draw Steel Brewery one). Bye for now, and thank you all!

Honey, I Fractured the Treasures
First of all, the backers have almost reached a third stretch goal, wow! I never expected this level of commitment and support! Thank you all so much for believing in this project.

The update

The other day, while I was vacuuming the house, I accidentally elbowed some of the regular treasures from this book, knocking them down on the floor. Turns out they were pretty poorly made, and some of them shattered into pieces! Oh no!

But fear not, there is a big upside; we can super-glue them back together and make them even better than before!

That's right people, some of the 26 regular leveled treasures in this book have been turned into FRACTURED treasures! For people who like the Fractured system and want to use it more, this will help easing the burden of fracturing your own treasures, and provide some additional guidelines and inspiration of how to still do it if you want to.

For those that don't intend to use the new kind of treasure, it will be very very easy to turn them into regular leveled treasures:
Step 1 - Take the benefit of the treasure's Base and give it to it at 1st level.
Step 2 - Remove the Fractured tag and make the treasure cost 450 project points to forge.
There is no step 3.

One More Treasure

Avid homebrewer and generous backer Echolocation has backed this project at the highest tier. As a Spellsmith, they have gained the opportunity to create (together with me) a Fractured treasure that will be included in this book! We have already talked plenty about it, and have come up with something amazing that also ties in with Echolocation's own Draw Steel project. I won't spoil much right now, but let's just say that fans of Bloodborne's most vicious boss might find this treasure familiar...

Project funded, and TWO stretch goals reached!
We did it! The project has been funded in just a few hours, and the first TWO stretch goals have already been cleared by our amazing backers! This means 4 more community copies will be released at the end of the campaign for anyone to grab, and I will now commission more art for the treasures. Backers can vote for the next item to be illustrated below, but we are on a deadline so you only have one day to do so!

Oh, and one generous backer has pledged at the highest tier, and will be designing a fractured treasure together with me for the book! So cool!

Thank you for the support everyone!

Poll Results, and Timeline Update

POLL RESULTS

The poll results are in! The HEART OF NINE won, so here it is!

Layout is subject to change.

Timeline Update

Okay so: this is my first crowdfunding, and I didn't know it had to be reviewed by the website first! This will take a couple days, so the crowdfunder will launch a little later than expected, middle of next week.

Any chance of making this available, for backers, as a Forge Steel sourcebook to be imported into that tool?

1. AN ECHO OF THE GREEN (Light armor) The wood that makes up this suit of armor is flexible like leather, and transient like a childhood memory. 2. CYST BREAKER (Heavy armor) This suit of armor covers every inch of its wearer's body, protecting them from inhaling or coming into contact with poisonous substances, but is itself heavily infested with poisonous cysts on the verge of bursting. 3. LEVIATHAN’S GRASP (Medium armor) The magical scales of this armor always appear with the pattern of the sea reflected on them. Occasionally, you might even catch a glimpse of the mighty beast’s eye looking at you… 4. PLATE OF THE REVENANT KING (Heavy armor) There is visible necromantic energy cursing through every part of this bulky, dark metal suit of armor. (The Plate of the Revenant King is part of an item set, together with his weapon and a piece of jewelry. If this gets voted, the next 2 artworks I commission will be to bring the set together)
