Project Update: Big Update! Shipping in progress - with help!

Packing Help with a special guest!
I'm also enlisting my parents, boyfriend, and any willing friends in packaging activities. I'm doing the item picking/packing into bags parts so that if any mistakes are made with the order, it's on me. And no one else has to learn my system of 10000 pins lol.
Shipping Status
Everything is ahead or on track with my original shipping timeline (Nov-Dec), my goal is to get this done by the end of the year but I may need to take a bit of a shipping hiatus around Christmas since USPS gets pretty crazy around that time.
- Orders containing these single bags have shipped or will ship out very soon: Crow, Chicken, Cockatiel, Duck, Blue Jay, Seagull, Flamingo, Toucan, Finch
- Orders containing these ship out next: Cardinal, PIGEONS (largest amount of orders)
- Orders containing these will ship out after pigeons: Budgie, Macaw, Quail, Chickadee
Locking addresses: I will lock the remaining addresses over the next week or so. If you need to update your address, please do so when you get the email with the 48hr lock warning.
I can ship about 50-100 orders per day, and am about 1/3 of the way done. It will be another 30 USPS business days before I can get everything out regardless of how fast I pack. It takes 3-10min to pack EACH ORDER so if you want to you, you can do the math there and feel very bad for me.

Project Update: Surveys sent, Survey & Add-on FAQ, 50% Completed!
And sorry for the multiple emails in 2 days, but wanted to make sure I clarified things as needed!
All surveys have been sent. If you DID NOT receive an email with your survey, make sure to check your spam folder. You can also access the survey via this link and your email address: https://bird-ita-bags.backerkit.com/
Baby bird pins and a few other bird add-on pins which were missing for the first 1-2 hours of the survey have been correctly placed into the add-ons section!
Some FAQ answers:
Timeline:
Once surveys are locked on July 30th I will send out a notification that I am charging cards for shipping and add-ons. Again, it will email you a 48hr warning in case you need to make any updates. That means that cards will be charged on August 1st.
Your shipping address will not be locked until I am ready to begin shipping. For pin-only orders I expect this to be August/September. For any orders containing bags and wallets, production and shipping is a lengthy process but I am still on target for the Oct-Jan timeline and will lock addresses when ready to ship. I will keep you all updated on the manufacturing/shipping process.
What's Included? Can I swap out inserts/straps?
(Everything is accurate in images except for the duck, which will have a "more accurate" grey insert. If you want the duck and prefer the original green insert I can handle this on a case by case basis since this was last minute change.)
Hope that helps clear up some of the questions, I will continue to edit this update with more FAQ if there are any more common questions.

Hi, I think I placed an order but it gives no order number and I didn't get an email saying I placed an order, but the page itself won't proceed and does say thank you for your purchase?

I hope you are having a great holiday season! I'm still on track to have everything complete by the end of January and am down to the final few packages.
Sorry to those of you who got shipping notifications in November and haven't seen package movement yet - most of my December I was unable to pack as I was away to visit family on the other side of the country for a week, and then got knocked out by sinus surgery for a week. But I'm healthy (and can smell!) and back at packing now. Yesterday my dad helped me out and we managed to pack nearly 100 boxes, so my house currently looks like a hoarder situation until I can get USPS to pick them all up lol.

Hiya! I am not in any way, shape, or form complaining, please know that ahead of time! My package was marked as shipped 11/13, but it's never been picked up by the USPS, so I was just wondering if that'll still be on track to be shipped by the end of the year? It's no rush, I'm not trying to be a bother, I just wanted to make sure that it hadn't actually been shipped and it's lost or anything! Thank you so much, I'm so excited for my goodies! 💜💜💜

Hello! I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask about this, but I just received my bag (it's absolutely amazing, btw! I will be wearing it everywhere!) and I was wondering how you were packaging the chick micropins? I can't find it and I'm not sure if I just missed it or if it isn't there. Thank you!
Project Update: Quick check-in - Over 70% fulfilled! & an Audubon Fundraiser!
Here is my check-in to let you know I'm still working on it! Been continuing to work hard packaging, sending out 50-100 packages per business day. We are now at 73% completed!
If your order has a tracking number but no tracking info yet it just means I haven't sent it! I have boxes of packages ready to go over the next couple weeks. I really appreciate your patience. I'll get the rest out as quickly as I can without making mistakes!
Since I'm packing things as quickly as I can I'm tending to make a few more mistakes than I'd like, but I'm correcting them as soon as possible. Typically a missed pin here or there - or my horrible habit of forgetting to check the item count next to the item name.
Maybe a dozen or two of these out of nearly 2000 packages isn't so bad though!
Keep sharing photos of your bags, seeing them on twitter, instagram, tumblr, etc makes my day! I try to re-share as many as possible :)

Hey! I wasn't sure the best way to reach you. I received my package with a Toucan bag, toucan pin, chick pin, and an egg wallet and I love everything! I think I'm missing the wing insert though, was one supposed to be included or ordered separately? Thanks!

hello! so i ordered just a little egg wallet and pins and one of the acrylic chain bag straps (was going to get a fanny pack strap but didn't edit my order in time) and i recieved a package in the mail today addressed to me but there was someone else's order of a toucan bag in there? this has never happened to me before and i don't know what to do and i don't know if this is the right place to ask about it please help
Project Update: 2nd Round of Bags Arrived, Shipping in Progress!
I just got the second round of bags earlier this week - 30 cartons!
Items in stock now: all pins, stickers, keychains, washi tape, all of the egg wallets
Bags in stock (new shipment in bold): Chicken, Cockatiel, Zebra Finch, Flamingo, Crow, Blue Jay, Toucan, Duck, Seagull, acrylic chain straps
I am chipping away at shipping with the help of friends and family, but it's mainly just me. If you have any issues with your order please email me directly at [email protected] - any messages via instagram/twitter/facebook/comments here etc can be difficult to handle so I like to keep everything in my regular email inbox.
You should get a shipping notification email before your items are shipped out - you may receive a notification 1-2 weeks in advance as I purchase a lot of shipping labels at once but can only pack them and get them out so fast. So far, I have shipped about 500 of the 2500 total orders so I'm making great progress!
Please double check the pocket inside your bag for items that you think might be missing, thats where i'm packing tiny pins etc!
Also when you get your stuff I would love to see what you do with the bag/pins etc! Feel free to tag me on social media if you post something like that.

I received my bags today! They both look awesome and I'm so excited that they're here and before the expected arrival date! I got the chicken bag, flamingo bag, brown chicken pin, flamingo pin, pink feather mini pin, chick mini pin, and the early bird pin! I think I'm going to start collecting the other bird pins from this campaign when they're up on the Etsy lmao

If your order includes these items and stuff I already have on hand (pins, stickers, keychains, washi tape, crow bags/inserts) and these new things, you will be receiving an email to notify you that your address will be locking for shipping. If you need to make any edits to your address please make sure you do so within 2 days of when you get the email!
NOTE: If your order includes bags, inserts, and straps (including waist straps) that I do not yet have, you will have to wait a bit longer!
Everyone is able to update their address at any time before it locks by accessing your Backerkit survey and clicking on the "Edit Your Address" button.

Project Update: Manufacturing & shipping progress: waiting and more waiting...
We are currently in what I like to call "the boring part of the project", but I wanted to make sure I stay in touch and keep you as updated as I am! A bunch of manufacturer photos are added to the end of this update :)
Shipping to me has begun on half the bags and the egg wallets and manufacturing is in progress for the rest. Sea freight takes about 30 days, unloading at the port and transportation to the local storage facility takes a couple weeks, and then UPS pickup and ground transportation across the country to me is another 2 or so weeks. So I estimate at least 60 days between leaving their origin and arriving at my house. The good news here is that the first shipments left the origin port in late August, meaning they should get to me by late October/early November which is right on track for my schedule. Just so you know, if you're ever curious about the status you can check the main page which I am keeping updated as things progress.
I have already shipped out the initial ~250 orders of just pins & crow bags! So 10% completed on a 2500 backer project feels pretty good to have done ahead of time.
