Welcome, esteemed Worldsingers, to Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium!
Throughout the next few weeks, we will be working together as a community to create a story full of wit, whimsy, and wonder.
The Collaborative Narrative
Like every good story, we will begin with an idea. It is our job as Worldsingers to take that idea and work together to create the best narrative possible. Don’t be afraid to share your ideas—none of us are perfect storytellers...yet.
At the end of each day, the highest community-voted paragraph will be solidified as the next part of the overarching story; it will become the passage wherein we will continue the narrative the following day.
However, there is more to worldsinging than just the stories we create. What gives us the ability to whisk audiences away to other worlds are well-timed distractions. Our stories are augmented and made unforgettable by the visuals we surround them with. Be it light, sand, or smoke, we bring stories to life with art.
The Worldsinger Gallery
To go alongside the writing portion of this contest, we are having an art competition. As our community story unfolds, we want to give each of you the opportunity to create art to go along with our community narrative, transforming what is sure to be an interesting tale into an unforgettable—and minimally painful—experience.
Even the most basic sketches with the most elementary skills elevate stories to newfound heights. We welcome those of all levels to participate and contribute.
Submissions will be accepted until March 27, 2026.
Like None Other
As a culmination of the community’s efforts, the completed narrative and select art submissions will be compiled and distributed as a free ebook for the community to enjoy! We hope this ebook of your own creation will honor the community’s wit and whimsy throughout the course of this campaign.
Is the story going to make sense? Maybe. Is it going to be good? We hope so. Will it at least be entertaining? Well, dear friends and strangers, that is entirely up to you.
The contest will begin when we reveal the prompt on March 3, 2026. And who knows, maybe we’ll have some input throughout from some of our…better-known storytellers. Until then, get ready, stretch your teamwork muscles, and let's create something awfully MAGNIFICENT.
Well, hopefully it is more magnificent than awful.
Let the Symposium begin!
