I thought this was mainly for the 4x Picture Books/short stories; I have no idea what Fires of December even is; is it a standalone story/book? If not, will there be a set of these Hoid's Travails or such released?

True, the campaign title is for the Picturebooks. And while many of us are incredibly excited for those, for some (possibly even most) the Fires of December is the reason they are here. Most tiers here include it in some format or another. I think there are more tiers with Fires than there are tiers with the picturebooks. Go figure.
Announced last year at Nexus I believe, Fires is Brandon's latest side project book. Originally named "Secret Projects" owing to him writing the original 4 in secret during COVID. All the previous books are available. Both as the premium Dragonsteel editions on Brandon's website and as regular releases wherever you buy books. The most recent one, "Isles of the Emberdark" had its hardcover release earlier this year. For these he's renamed the series sort of as "Hoid's Travails". It leaves out two of the secret project books I believe but I guess it's where Brandon wants to go with this.
