Project Update: Meet the Classes of Fantasy Heroes Unbound

Hey all! We're less than a month away from launch! Today we wanted to go over a few of the classes you'll be able to play in Fantasy Heroes Unbound.

Your Class gives your hero a starting framework, but in Fantasy Heroes Unbound, it doesn't have to dictate exactly who they'll become.

The game introduces 14 original Classes, built from the ground up using the Unbound framework. As your character advances, Bonus Points and Attributes give you opportunities to shape that starting archetype around your own character concept. And if you love the traditional Fifth Edition Classes, those remain compatible too.
Today, we're introducing four of the new Classes waiting in Fantasy Heroes Unbound.

Biohunter
Biohunters transform themselves to become formidable warriors and slayers, augmenting their bodies with powerful Aspects that reflect their calling.
Most belong to orders and dedicate themselves to protecting others, even when those same people may fear what they've become. Their physical enhancements and combat training make them dangerous opponents, but there's plenty of room to decide exactly what kind of Biohunter your character becomes.
Think:  warrior, devoted protector, dangerous rogue experiment

Dynamancer
Pick a Concept. Then start imagining what you could do with it.
Dynamancers dedicate themselves to mastering a broad area of magical influence, wielding Mana to manipulate their chosen facet of reality. That Concept could be rooted in traditional magic, divine power, psionics, music, astrology, or something more unusual.
Creativity and understanding are just as important to a Dynamancer as raw magical power.
Think: highly specialized magic shaped around a concept you choose.

Outworlder
Sometimes adventure begins very, very far from home.
Outworlders are travellers between realities, including some who never intended to leave their home plane at all. They learn to harness dimensional energies, sense hidden threats, replicate the abilities of those around them, and eventually open gateways between realms.
Some even come from a strange, magic-poor world called Earth.
Think: dimensional traveller, accidental hero, adaptable support character.

Voidreaver
Voidreavers combine martial training with the primordial power of the Void.
Rather than simply throwing more magic at their enemies, these warriors specialize in suppressing the powers of others, making them particularly dangerous to foes who depend on active magic.
Their reputation can be fearsome, but embracing the Void doesn't inherently make a Voidreaver grim or sinister. What they choose to do with that power is another matter entirely.
Think: countermagic warrior, mage hunter, wielder of the fifth element.

And that's only four of the 14 original Classes included in Fantasy Heroes Unbound, alongside options like the Adventurist, Binder, Mechanist, and more.

And your Class is still only a starting point.

Fantasy Heroes Unbound's progression system gives characters Bonus Points at multiple Levels that can be spent on Attributes of your choice. This flexibility takes the place of traditional fixed Subclass options, allowing you to develop your own archetype through the Attributes you select.

Which of these four would you play first?
Let us know in the poll at the bottom of this update! And if none of them have claimed your next character yet, don't worry. We still have ten more Classes to introduce.

Fantasy Heroes Unbound launches on September 8 on BackerKit.
