Transformative Sacrifice seems really bad? It's hard to imagine that many scenarios where I'd be willing to spend 0 energy to trade in a presence for a random card off the minor power deck. Assuming that you have to actually meet targeting restrictions on it, it feels like it'll be really easy to end up flipping cards that are either outright impossible to play or at minimum impossible to play usefully. The concept seems really cool, but the risk/reward ratio here seems skewed pretty hard against it. Am I missing something that makes it better than it looks? (all of that griping aside, I am super hyped for The Deeps. Ocean's Hungry Grasp is one of my favorite spirits and I love the idea of just eating the island one bite at a time)

What you might be missing is that you get to keep the power cards forever afterwards. It's a REALLY fast way to get more Minor Powers, even if they might be a little random. Especially if someone has managed to pull Blazing Renewal or another effect that brings back destroyed presence, it seems like it could be a good bargain in many situations. Getting to lose one from your presence tracks is just gravy on top.

Can you even pull back Presence this takes away? It says you Remove the presence, and I thought Removing stuff was different and meant it wouldn't be possible to get it back. I'm still just not excited about getting completely random minor powers. If you had any selection over them, I'd be interested, but it feels like too many minor powers are situational for me to feel confident I'd get enough to justify the cost.

The real question is whether you can remove one presence at a time and look at 1 minor at a time or whether you have to remove 1-3 first before looking at any minor powers. Also getting 3 player minors might get you that element you need to hit innates or a major threshold on another power that turn which is pretty unique

You have to Remove all your Presence before you get to see any of the cards. Choosing one at a time slowed the game down too much. And yes, you can get the Removed Presence back with anything that adds Destroyed Presence. Anything that completely removes a piece from the game will say so. This card is definitely a gamble, but if you get the full set of 3 Minors (or 4 with threshold), you'll usually get 2 helpful effects and at least 1 relevant Element for thresholds. Just make sure you don't sacrifice your last sacred site!

It's strong for the same reason that Growth Through Sacrifice is strong in a way that's not obvious at first glimpse. It's a gamble you need to be careful about (though bear in mind that Tipping Point has been removed from the game), but odds are you'll get multiple useful effects that round, plus the cards add to the thresholds of your innates and any other Majors you played that round, and you get to keep them. Even if you hate them, you can forget them to gain Majors or for Events.

Can drawing new elements from the 3 powers allow you to reach the threshold for Transformative Sacrifice, then allowing you to draw a 4th power? What about already played fast powers that you now hit their elemental thresholds? Love the risk / reward aspect of this card!!

No, the new cards can't help you hit the threshold of Transformative Sacrifice, since the threshold only does something when Removing Presence, which happens before any of the cards are played. They also can't help with thresholds on Powers that were already used, since Transformative sacrifice doesn't let you time travel back to when you used the Power in order to give you Elements at that point. Transformative Sacrifice should almost always be the first Power you use in a turn.
