Project Update: STICKERS IN! + November project teaser up
Good evening, gang!
I've been quiet, busy, and fighting for my life - so, anyways, normal HUSTLE Friday.
That being said, it's been a little bit too long between updates for you guys, and fate smiled on the fulfillment timeline today. Let's cover some boring shit!
I've been quiet, busy, and fighting for my life - so, anyways, normal HUSTLE Friday.
That being said, it's been a little bit too long between updates for you guys, and fate smiled on the fulfillment timeline today. Let's cover some boring shit!
C3's vinyl stickers are in!
Just over 1,000 2" CHALLENGE COIN stickers hit my porch this evening. Of course, they were on the wrong porch, and they were drenched from some recent Rochester rain. Good thing these little pieces of work are weatherproof!
This, as well as locking pin backs being here, mean it's time to start the first steps of the fulfillment grind.
We do not have pins in yet. Let's get that cleared up. C3's actual Challenge Coins have begun production, though - at this time, we are looking to be slightly behind schedule.
There have been some considerable issues with factory-side artworks for C3. If you've been around for CRITTER CRIMES, and the dragon fiasco... it's a very similar problem where someone caused potentially catastrophic issues by cleaning up my artwork incorrectly. I send 600dpi rasters, and they're in charge of machine files.
We caught it, this time, but not without some incredibly funny fuckups... that would have been way less funny if they made it to production. I hope you guys like papyrus font!
Ultimately, I'm solving this by committing to not being a lazy fuck and re-learning Illustrator. There's no losing shit in translation if there's nothing to translate.
We are not locking addresses or shipping at this time. As anyone alive right now is well aware, both domestic and international trade are a garbage fire right now. I can't, in good faith, provide accurate shipping costs or estimates right now - and that means I can't charge.
So, what's actually happening? At this time, backers are just going to be assigned their stickers and locking backs. We'll get those squared away safely, so they're ready to go as soon as pins get here and we can, actually, finalize addresses and charge for shipping and addons.
This also means I can stock stickers and pin backs in the HUSTLE for retail buyers who want them, and take them to in-person events. Basically...
- Pin production's started, and may be a little behind schedule. Jury's out on Anthrocon pickup.
- Stickers are in.
- Locking pinbacks are in.
- Both of these things will be set aside for backers before you see them up for sale.
- Don't sweat an incorrect address right now. Enjoy the sticker preview. I'll hit you up when we need that.
Only serious warning: All unpaid orders will be forfeitted May 12th. You cannot get a refund or pledge rewards past this date.
Other than that, it's been a lot of herding cats at the day job and catching up on work behind the scenes. All but 1 slot of CRITTER CRIMES' customs are finally out. All remaining orders are either out, or going out this weekend to try and dodge USPS rate increases. That project'll see a final update and wrap up once that final slot of multiple customs is set.
My foster dog's been adopted, and happily so. He was a good little dude. I'm on the fence about running a mid-year mini campaign as part of Doggust, so, keep an eye out for that.
What I'm NOT on the fence about is my November project:
ARCHETYPES has a nice pretty teaser banner and some slightly updated sketches. If you're a fantasy JRPG guy, or a Persona guy, check this out. It's been a while since I made transformative fanart. But, this game hit me in the gut just the right way, I wanted to make something for it and its fans.
The HUSTLE will be launching TRIBUTES along with 8 other creators this November, so, prepare your wallet and cash in on some of your favorite artists' geeky passion projects. This is a low-stakes, slow-paced event for all of us, but, you should expect to see TRIBUTES picking up some heat with an official announcement shortly.
I'll have sketches of our returning backer freebies soon. They're cheeky and stupid and I love them.
