Shipping Costs Delayed
Hello folks,
I was supposed to have put shipping costs on your orders a couple days ago, and then charged them today. Clearly that hasn't happened.
I've been told we need another couple days to get the shipping costs. I will of course update when those shipping costs go live soon.

The Path of Misery is Clear | Shipping Charges Soon, FAQ
Hello folks,
I do apologize for how long it's been, but I don't like to make updates when I don't have information to share. So as you've all likely already noticed, I have not added shipping charges to anyone's orders or charged for shipping. If I had, you'd have known-- as I would have shared an update that shipping costs are added to your pledges and being charged.
So, the good news: All the decks are made! They've been ready for a few weeks now at least. The manufacturer has been waiting for the oracle dice that go in the deluxe editions to ship to them from the dice manufacturer, but as of today, those were received. There are only 500 deluxe editions being made, so that will be done very fast since everything else is done and ready.
This means I am locking down addresses here in a few days on Monday the 18th. You have until then to update your address if you need to. I will then be giving the addresses and final orders over to our fulfillment team.
New Timeline
- May 18th: All items are assembled. I submit final spreadsheets for your orders and addresses to get shipping costs.
- May 25th: Shipping charges applied to your orders, charged 2 days later.
- June 5th: International shipping starts to go out.
- June 10th: All US Orders are packed and heading to the states.
- July 20th: All orders expected to be in the mail or in hand.
This is a clear delay to our timeline, but we're at the end now. Things are moving towards shipping.
For international orders, they could begin being packed and heading out the very first days of June. This would go on through June, and means International orders would be arriving throughout the back half of June and through July. By the end of July, all international orders should be received.
For the US, they will be packed at once in June and travel to the US by boat. Then we will see them ship out directly into the USPS system from there. That means it'll all be in hand by early-August at the latest in the US.

How Do I Know If I Did My Survey?
I've noted a few times now that folks haven't done their surveys and emailed those people directly. There are still 40 folks on this particular project who haven't touched their survey.
You can personally check your survey at any time by either following this link, or by just going to Backerkit.com and looking at your surveys. If you entered a shipping address for this specific project, that means you did your survey.

I will update when I have added shipping totals to your orders, so those aren't in place yet. You just want to see that you completed your survey, that's all for this moment.
How Do I Know If My Orders Got Merged/Combined?
I've had many folks confused why their orders don't look combined. This is not because you're stupid-- it's a bit obtuse. I apologize for that. But if you check your Backerkit survey it should show items from the other projects merged together. You'll find this project, the Misery Tarot, has all your items if you had them merged from the Hot Housewives campaigns.
*Some folks noted they had to go into edit their survey mode to see the full cart.*
I have had only one backer reach out to tell me an item was wrong, and it truly was! Of the many others who have reached out, it's all been misunderstandings of where to look. So please check your surveys on each project to see if one has all the items if you're concerned, otherwise we should be good.

We are rapidly approaching the day I lock people's addresses, March 27th, so I can get shipping charges onto your orders and we can get moving on with getting these items in your hands in June!
In this project, there are still 40 folks who haven't filled out a survey at all.
A reminder that you need to fill out your survey, have a shipping address, and then pay your shipping charges before you'll get any items from this project.
So check your spam folder and your email to see if you got a reminder to fill out the survey just now, as I just pinged those final 40 once more.

The Final Timeline, and Hot Housewives Merging into the Misery Tarot
Hello friends!
As of today, I have finished merging people's orders backwards across the various projects, so anyone who backed both this project and the Hot Housewives project who requested it in their survey, your orders are now merged into one project.
What this looks like: your order on the Hot Housewives project was marked as Fulfilled, and the items from it have been added to your order on THIS Misery Tarot project. If you're curious, you can go take a look for yourself to make sure things made it over okay.
I am going to LOCK ADDRESSES on the 27th of March. The goal is to make sure our shipping numbers and addresses are correct.
As of now, we are aiming to have our production finished by mid April, with items heading into fulfillment in China and then picked-and-packed by the end of April for your orders.
April 30th - May 10th, we'll see International (non-North American) shipping starting to go out.
May 25-30th, we'll see the container with the North American orders arrive to the USA.
June 10th, all orders should have been shipped out and, hopefully, in-hand already.
That's it! Chinese New Year breaks end shortly, so we'll see items in production soon, and then it's a fulfillment time where things happen, packages are packed, labels are placed, and then items go places!
So that's that, otherwise you'll just be looking for my updates about the shipping charges being added to your orders near the end of March, and I'll be harassing people who haven't gotten their surveys in. You can always just go on backerkit.com and check your surveys there if you're not sure if it's in yet! The Misery Tarot's Miserable Path | Timeline Update
Hello everyone,
The Sample That Wasn't
Okay, so... My manufacturer decided they would wait to start manufacturing the Misery Tarot until after I had the sample of the Hot Housewives Tarot. Or at least until the sample was made. I don't really understand why, but here we are. As the title of this section spoils, though they had the print files November 20th, they never looked at them until January 23rd or 24th for reasons I will never know.
So, if you have the math down there, you've come the conclusion I have: We've had 2 months to manufacture and we haven't even begun. For reasons I don't know. But I've been told the problem has been fixed and the main manager is back so things will be fixed. That said, I still haven't been given information for all my questions.

The Chinese New Year
And as of now, we are hitting the Chinese New Year. This is part of why we can't just get a new manufacturer, they will all be closed. This means we simply won't begin manufacturing until, at the earliest, start of March. Chinese New Year shuts down everything business wise, every factory closes. This year it looks to be Feb 17-March 2nd or thereabouts (though I've heard from some places that workers are already on holiday), so they won't start and production on things that won't be totally finished before the New Year starts, and they always have a backlog leading into it because it's a busy time.
This puts us in a hard spot. As of now, it sounds like I'm not getting a sample at all. I told them I need clear eProofs to know that at least the foil will all be correct (right color, placed right, on the correct cards), and for clarity on the final pricing for a standard edition and a deluxe edition, now that they have all files in hand.

TIMELINE
Based on how slowly I'm getting information back, I need to be fair and likely very conservative with my estimates here. So here we go:
- March | I still haven't been given an invoice, but supposedly things are back on track so now I should pay right away and get manufacturing started mid-March.
- April | I will get shipping totals for your orders and move anyone who wanted their HHT over to that project. Manufacturing completes.
- May | Ordered are assembled, international orders ship direct from China. US/Canada/Mexico orders go on a boat to the US.
- June | US, Canada, and Mexico orders arrive state-side via boat, are put into USPS system. Rest of international orders ship out.
- July | Late survey backers get orders sent out.
- August | All orders should have been received. We close fulfillment.
- September | I harass anyone who didn't get their surveys in or pay for shipping, giving them a few more last chances. Then, we close the project down. It's completed.
The good news is that The Hot Housewives Tarot, Oracle Dice, and Misery Tarot should all be on the same schedule here, getting packed and shipped out all at the same time, more or less. The good news continues in that they will be made and shipped in the next 4-5 months here. The bad news for us is that this means orders will not be in hand before May, and in fact for late survey fillers they may not even be in hand until late July or August. The bad news for me is that all these delays now mean that none of my three divination tools will be shipped before I wanted to launch the Goblin's Tarot in May. I had thought at least both Tarots would be. But that does not look possible anymore.
- Financially, the business is just scraping by here. By now/March we were supposed to be heading into shipping. We have the funds to manufacture, and then we'll charge to ship, but until that's all over, I can't reasonably run yet another divination project to bring in more money. This means I can't pay myself any money until new money exists, which was supposed to be in May with the Goblin's Tarot. It seems like I'm going to need to pick up a part time job for a few months this year to afford rent and bills, until the manufacturers are caught up and I can lead into the next project. Needless to say, this is not an ideal situation for all of you who have been waiting for the items you pledged for, or me who had a tight timeline that I was making work out of necessity, only to get it fumbled by the manufacturer.

All of which is to say, the timeline got fumbled by the manufacturer. We don't have a sample and may not ever, instead just me looking at eproofs and okaying manufacturing. Because of the Chinese New Year, we won't begin manufacturing until March at the earliest, and probably be shipped out to people by July/August. I apologize, but it was and is completely out of my hands right now, and has been since November.
The Goblin's Tarot, slated for May, will have to be moved back until the current divination tools are all shipped. This one has a quick and great manufacturer who has already gotten most of the pins to me, and that I'm fulfilling myself, so it will have a very fast turnaround! : )
