A lot of yall should be receiving your rewards now. However, if you’re a glory or exalted backer we ran into a slight issue with the signature plates and John has to resign them all. I already drove them out to him, he’s signing this week then I’ll be picking them up to resume fulfillment in the following week!

I’m so sorry for the delay, we wanted to be wrapping fulfillment but unfortunately it will be another week before we can get the slipcases out.

Hey all! Great news, the books are officially at customs and should be on their way to us any day!

We had to source some of the rewards from different suppliers so there might be a slight delay with some of the rewards showing up at different times, but they're on their way too!

As soon as the books get in we'll have John come sign everything and can start shipping the rewards we have everything for!

I'll keep y'all posted once they're in the warehouse and send pics!

Hey folks!

WoW Diary is still on its way! When I thought to myself it should be here by now and went digging into it today I found out that there were some massive delays at the port the books were shipping out of. AND no one thought to tell me about it. So, when I said they were shipping I was wrong and I am so so sorry. It was never my intention to mislead anyone but I was told they were on the water by my contact and that was false, they were at the port and have been stuck there up until about a week ago.

This doesn't impact the timeline too terribly because we were going to have to wait on the slipcases and deskmats which were always going to come in after the books anyway. Now they'll all arrive around the same time for fulfillment.

All of that being said I'm certain y'all are not thrilled by this so next week I'm going to get in touch with the logistics companies and get Container #'s/Tracking #'s on everything and pass them along to y'all so you can follow along with their transit.

That's all for right now, but you can definitely expect another update from me next week and many more between then and the books arriving to you.

Hey all! I got my wires crossed with the last update, that's entirely on me for misreading the timelines laid out. My understanding was the factory was done last month but they were just getting started.
Here is where we're at:

What is finished:
Quoting with factory
Quoting of special metal bookplates with other factories
Book design and pre-press for hardcover and softcover versions, Slipcase design and pre-press
Bonus post-mortem book design and pre-press
Extensive revisions and proofing
Production on all books nearing completion

What needs to be done:
Bookplates will be hand-signed and adhered
Digital rewards need to be sent out
Campaign Fulfillment

It's looking like everything will arrive in mid/late October and we'll begin fulfillment right away! I'll work with John on distributing the digital rewards asap!

Hey all!

I wanted to give y'all a quick update on our timeline. We're running a bit behind but everything is starting to come together!

Where we're at:
We're in the proofing process with the printer, we've submitted files and just waiting to make sure everything is copacetic before we pull the trigger. With paper prices fluctuating so much it's taken a little bit longer to nail down the right manufacturer, but we have now and we're moving forward.

What we're waiting on:
We still need to finalize the layout for the slipcase and signature plates.
I'm still scoping printers for the deskmat. I have one ready to go, but I wanted to get a few more options before firing that off as well. Luckily they'll print and ship much faster than the books so it won't affect the overall timeline.

Once the proofing is done and the layout for the slipcase is finished we'll be golden to get this into print and fulfilled!

The new timeline:
July 21st Layout Finalized
July 28th Proofing finished
August 1st everything is in production
September 1st-15th will be the new fulfillment date!

I'll be checking back in regularly and will update y'all if anything changes but we're nearing that point now where everything starts falling into place!

First of all, I'd like to sincerely apologize for not following up on a lot of the comments for the past month. Life threw some major curveballs at me and I've been buried under a mountain of unexpected work the last month. But I've been digging out and there's light at the end. So, I've been shifting gears back into WoW Diary!

It looks like a few EU countries didn't get the proper shipping rates applied. All of the ones I could find should be fixed but if for whatever reason it's not don't worry it will get fixed before billing anyone.

Progress on the book is coming along well. We finished reviewing quotes from Manufacturers last week and are going to be moving to production soon!

I'll be checking back in with more regular updates and reviewing the comments again now that I'm more caught up!

I want to thank everyone who contributed to the reprint of The WoW Diary. I think you'll really enjoy The Postmortem Booklet as it expands on some concepts I touched on in The WoW Diary. It a way, it's a more personal work and captures what I think Blizzard got right and wrong in developing WoW for 20 years. When funding closes, we'll wait for bank transfers before getting to work on the printing/signing/fulfillment process to get rewards into everyone's hands.

Thanks to you, my backers, The WoW Diary's second printing will see the light of day. A year after the first edition, I became a full-time writer and learned a few subtleties about the English language that will go into this new product. I learned that passive voice stinks and removed it from The WoW Diary's narrative. It makes for smoother read and an altogether more polished product. I also fixed a few typos and Nolan found a proofreader with a PhD in copyediting who is giving the final product a once-over while I write this.

Nothing about The WoW Diary is different, but I'm proud of sharing what I learned about working in the entertainment industry in The Post-Mortem. I include some personal philosophy and observations about Blizzard's direction after WoW shipped, some advice for people looking for a first job in the industry, and more. I also polished and included the first four essays in the supplemental booklet from the first Kickstarter campaign. 

So, We're Funded. What happens Next?

Everyone relaxes. We're going to coast for a few weeks until the campaign ends. That's when Nolan and I get busy. 

Nolan's company Source Point Media hails from Michigan, within driving distance to Ohio, where I'm located. I'll be able to visit his warehouse and sign copies there instead of the printers. So that's kinda cool, and we'll take pictures and keep you updated as it goes along. March is our printing date, so expect an update. 

Nolan is way more experienced in distribution. In some cases, his shipping prices were a third of what I charged over fours ago, and I still lost a bundle in shipping expenses. In fact, this second printing wouldn't have happened without him, so we all owe him a round of thanks. He has been doing the legwork for the publicity, so if you guys could get the word out on social media and give us a plug, he would appreciate it. ;-)
