Project Update: Bonus Update!

While Rina is sleeping, I figured I would hijack the account and post an update.
I’ve seen a lot of good questions in the Backerkit comments and in our Discord. The whole team has been answering as much as we can, but I thought I might share some answers to some of the more common and even some spoilery ones!
First, let’s celebrate hitting $6 million and welcome our newest wave of crawlers! There’s more than 25,000 of you now, so hopefully someone will be able to GM a game near you.
$6 Million means that the Gold and Damage tokens that come with Unstoppable will be upgraded to wood! This change, like the dual-layer player boards, will apply to all copies of Dungeon Crawler Carl Unstoppable, including when it goes to retail later this year!
We also caught a mathematical error in our Platinum pledge tier pricing. Actually, some of you caught it first and pointed it out to us, we appreciate you always being on the lookout! We’ve reached out to Backerkit to see if they can assist us with changing the price, since it locked on our end once the campaign started.
Now on to the Question and Answer portion of this update:
Will there be more RPG Books?
Yes! The team is wrapping up the core rulebook now and we have already started working on some outlines for the next two books. When we started, we mapped out a multi-year plan. We will begin work on new books in full force in just a couple of months!
Will there be more expansions for Unstoppable?
Yes! We are launching with a core game and two expansions but we already have begun planning for a new Dungeon Crawler Carl expansion. Also, if you are a fan of the original game there’s already stuff in the works for that too. We have a multi-year plan for Unstoppable overall.
What is the Season Pass?
What It Is:
- An optional stream of new digital content released over time. Things like new neighborhoods, quests, and other tools for GMs and players.
- A way for us to keep supporting players and GMs post-launch with an ongoing stream of additional content that can supplement their games.
- A program where the community helps shape what gets made. During the campaign (and even after) we will be letting Crawlers vote on new content they would like us to create for this program during the year.
Essentially, the Season Pass is just extra, meant for groups who want more ongoing content. Not something anyone must have to play or to enjoy the game.
What It's Not:
- It is NOT cut content. Nothing in the Season Pass is being pulled out of the Core Book or Starter Set. Those are fully self-contained and have everything you need to play the game.
- For additional context, the Core Book is clocking in at around 350 pages. The Starter Box has 300 pages of content, plus all the maps, tokens, and components. The box weighs a whopping 6 pounds!
- It is NOT required to play. You can run full campaigns with just the Core Book and/or Starter Box. That’s the entire game.
- It is NOT content that already exists. We have been working on the Core Book and Starter Set since last year so we could get them to our backers within the same year of our campaign. The Season Pass content hasn’t been made yet. It’ll be bonus content that is created after the campaign over the course of the following year.
The Season Pass is now included in all of our RPG tiers!
Will Discord have more channels like LFG?
Yes, towards the end of the campaign we will be opening up channels like LFG, spaces to share ideas, share custom creations like your original classes, races, skills, and mobs. If you have ideas on what type of channels you would like to see be sure to let us know!
Can you make your own Dungeon Floors?
Yes, you are not required to play on the floors from the novels. That’s part of the fun of RPGs, they are a giant sandbox and the only limit is your imagination.
Are we limited to just 5 Floors?
Future books will cover more floors from the novels and even new mechanics to represent some of the unique gameplay the Crawlers experienced on those floors.
Will there be more miniatures?
Yes and no. There will be more minis in 2027 but we are at our limit of what we can get done in time to deliver this year. We may even open up a poll for you all to tell us who you would like to see as minis next.
Will Unstoppable Be Getting any more Stretch Goals?
We’ve got one more component stretch goal for Unstoppable that we haven’t revealed yet, stay tuned for when we announce that…
