Become an active member of the Kickstarter community

Now that you’ve spent some time setting up your expectations, it’s time to start learning more about Kickstarter.

If you’re serious about crowdfunding your game on Kickstarter, it is crucial for you to understand and engage with the platform. And above all, support other people just like you trying to turn their ideas into reality! There’s no better place than Kickstarter to do research, educate yourself, and connect with other creators. Remember, potential backers can see how many projects you’ve backed. While never backing a project may not be a deal-breaker, it’s a nice way to show people that you support this community.

Here are a few things you can do right now:

Start backing projects
If you haven’t backed any projects, what are you waiting for? Even just a $1 pledge is appreciated and will grant you access to creator updates so you can study how people interact with their backers.

Follow creators you admire & reach out
Following creators on Kickstarter is super easy. Take a look at their project history, study their journey, see what projects they’ve backed, send them a message asking for advice, and get alerts whenever they launch something new.

Use the tools and resources
Spend some time exploring all Kickstarter has to offer including the various resources, tools, newsletters, and articles. You’d be surprised by how many people have the same questions as you.
