Highlights

Hey gang,

We'd love to get to know you better. Where did you hear about Werewolf in the Dark? What's your best memory of a game of hide-and-go-seek? And particularly good hiding spots? You'll need them, so don't share all your secrets. But let us know! What brings you here?

Werewolf in the Dark (WitD) can be played pretty much anywhere where it is dark. That doesn't mean all play spaces are created equal. Obviously, one dream place to play WitD is in an actual medieval castle, but that might not be realistic for you. Where is the best place you hope to play AND likely will?

Project Update: The Count is Now At Fifteen...

So, if we can reach 15 Backers by this Friday, during the Night of Lore Live Stream, two (yes, two) random Backers will receive a Random Reward.

Now, I like those odds. But we need four more Backers to even make this event a possibility. So spread the links all around! Share the BackerKit links, the Livestream Links, share your experiences you have had with the project thus far.

The project only gets bigger by sharing. These Random Rewards are not going anyway. So be not afraid that someone else will snag "your" reward. As of right now, there will be 30 Random Rewards throughout this campaign. That number might be adjusted.

Let's share what makes us happy. What we have fun with. We are on this journey together. Let's roll some dice together!

I've seen a few projects on BK, but I don't see any way to find out what the longest-ever backer trains have gotten up to. Is 700 a lot, or barely getting started?

Project Update: Werewolf in the Dark is funded! THANK YOU!!!

Dear Backers,

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Werewolf in the Dark has been fully funded! Thanks to each and every one of you, our dream of bringing this immersive game of sneaking around in the dark to life is now a reality. It happened so fast that I'm rushing to write this update!

Picture taken after a WitD game at CabinCon in April 2024

A Howling Success
Your incredible support and enthusiasm have made this possible. Backing us on day one is a big deal! Not only do you get an early backer Werewolf in the Dark pin, but you get our sincere appreciation. Watching the community come together has been nothing short of inspiring.

What's Next?
With funding secured, we're ready to dive into the next phases:

  1. Almost everything is finished!: Our talented artist, Bradley Blare, already hand carved all of our art. It's done. We already have quotes from our manufacturer. The only thing left to do is go through the finalized proofreading of all materials and tightening up any graphic design mishaps or typos we discover.
  2. Future updates: The current plan is to keep you thoroughly informed through this journey. While the campaign is still live, you can expect an update any time we reach an achievement/stretch goal. I also promise to provide you an update at least once a week while the campaign is live. After the close of the campaign, you can expect an update at least once every month until Werewolf in the Dark is fulfilled.
  3. Answering your questions: Have questions? Ask them. We'll do our best to answer them. We even have a customer service person, Tyler Brown, whose soul source of happiness just might be feeding your questions with his answers.

Stretch Goals
We’re not stopping here! With several stretch goals on the horizon, we’re eager to enhance the game even further. Every additional dollar helps us add more content, like upgraded components and digital content to help you play Werewolf in the Dark. Spread the word and let’s see how far we can go together!

Join the Conversation
Join our community on social media and our Backerkit forum. Share your thoughts, ask questions, and connect with fellow backers. We love hearing from you and value your feedback immensely. Currently we have a conversation going about our favorite Hide-and-Seek memories. Check it out!

Thank You!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in Werewolf in the Dark. Your support has made this journey possible, and we can’t wait to deliver a game that will provide countless hours of fun and intrigue.

Stay tuned for more updates and exciting announcements as we continue this adventure together.

With deepest gratitude,

The Werewolf in the Dark Team
P.S. Howl at the moon tonight – we certainly will be! 🌕🐺

Project Update: Digital Stretch Goal Reached!

We just reached our second stretch goal!!

Congrats everyone. Now playing Werewolf in the Dark (WitD) became a wee bit easier. How? Well let's dive in.

If you already looked at the Print-and-Play rules (available here), you would see that WitD is played in Day and Night phases, a lot like classic Werewolf.. Both of these phases require you to keep track of time.

The Day phase is always just 1 single minute.
The Night phase lasts up to 8 minutes.

But now, instead of having to pull out any timer, you can use our official audio timer! We are going to create a 1 minute timer for the Day phase that will not only keep track of time for you, but will also help host the day phase. As a bonus, we will also create something similar for the Night phases, but here the timer will also include atmospheric sounds to help set the mood.

Imagine a professional audio host leading the Day phase:
"Players, form a circle. Discuss your thoughts on who should be voted to be eliminated! You have one minute... starting now!" ...
"Only 30 seconds remaining." ...
"Time is up!"
"Players, point to the sky. Choose which player you want to eliminate and point to them in 3... 2... 1... POINT! Whoever is being pointed at most is eliminated. If there is a tie, nobody is eliminated."

Our current plan is to release these audio tracks through our website at tuesdayknightgames.com where you download them at your convince. We will also be releasing these tracks on our YouTube channel so you may search for them there. We hope to get you these tracks before you get your copy of Werewolf in the Dark.

But now is the stretch goal I believe you want most. If we reach our next goal of $99,000, we will be able to afford to put 12 LED candles in EVERY box! These candles will conveniently fit under the vacuum tray, discussed in our last update.

Look at those beautiful melty LED candles! Yours if we reach $99,000.

So why would I care about candles? Well, candles are actually a HUGE part of the game! If you are eliminated you become a ghost during your next Day phase. The purpose of a ghost is to simply have fun and to cause fun.
When you become a ghost you:
  1. DRAW 2 GHOST TOKENS from the table at Sanctuary. Each ghost token has its own unique ability.
  2. CHOOSE 1 TO USE and return the other ghost token face down for any future ghosts to possible use.
  3. PLACE YOUR GHOST TOKEN FACEUP on the table. This is a reference for others to see which ghosts are in play.
  4. TAKE A CANDLE and turn it on. Spooky.

Thank you again for your support! Let us know your thoughts, your questions, and keep posting on the community page... and let's get to $99,000!
One-minute Voting Timer (available online and for download).
Goal: $66,000 reached! — We did it! This project reached this goal!
100%
12 LED candles will be included in every box! Batteries not included.
Goal: $76,083 / $99,000
76%
We need $22,917 more to reach this goal.

Project Update: Physical Stretch Goal Reached!

Well, how about that? We just reached our first stretch goal/achievement!

Thanks to you and the other backers who shared this project with others, we are now able to upgrade the box lining!

The truth is, this may not seem that exciting to some, but it's actually a big deal. As you may already know, manufacturing charges less per unit of a product if you order in bigger bulk. Because we are getting more orders, we can save a bit of money on manufacturing. However, we want to pass those savings onto you to make this the best possible version of the game you can get.

Below are pictures of the white box version of the game I received from our manufacturer. You'll notice in the first two pictures, the lining of the box is simple cardboard. While this serves its purpose of holding the vacuum tray in place, it isn't the prettiest to look at due to it's exposed cardboard core.

Cardboard lining to hold the vacuum tray in place.

Look at that ugly exposed cardboard core.

But now look at these babies! You'll no longer see the exposed cardboard but will instead see beautiful foam board lining. Thank you so much for this upgrade.

Oooooo. Foam board.

Now there is no more ugly. Just pretty.

But okay, you're asking, that's just the lining. So what?

Boom, boom, vacuum tray! Character cards on one side, ghost tokens on the other.

Well we're also now able to slot in this beautiful vacuum tray to hold the cards and ghost tokens. The lining holds that tray in place, and the tray is easy to remove for storage in the deeper recesses of the box. It's pretty amazing and it feels really slick when you use it at the table.

This is just first stretch goal/achievement. There are more on the way. Personally, the one I'm most excited about is at the $99,000 achievement. If we can get there, then LED candles will come with each game box! Better yet, the LED candles can be stored under the vacuum tray! If you weren't pumped about the vacuum tray before, I bet you are now.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's set our sights on the next goal, which will provide you with digital content you'll be able to use to help run your Werewolf in the Dark games! That unlocks at $66,000.

Thanks again and let's keep this train moving. Share the project if you can so we can unlock even more goals to maximize your Werewolf in the Dark box!
Major upgrades to the box, including a sleek vacuum tray liner.
Goal: $33,000 reached! — We did it! This project reached this goal!
