When I sketched these first two ideas way back at the start of the year, I never expected to have a whole collection of creatures and an awesome double-sided display board (Carly K shout-out!) for this project.
The fact that so many of you are excited to add these pins to your own collections is truly humbling. Thank you from the depths of my weird goth kid heart.

Now that all the current designs are unlocked, new designs will be coming soon. There are other designs in the works for this campaign and you can expect a new design to be posted before the end of the week. We also reached 350 backers, so all orders will now come with a free sticker pack. Keep an eye on campaign updates because we'll showcase new designs and host backer polls there. I always like to ask backers what they are looking for in a pin design. If there is a specific design or phrase you'd like to see on a pin in this campaign, please leave a comment below. Please keep suggestions relevant to the theme of this campaign, and keep in mind there won't be any pins for specific chronic illnesses. All pins in this campaign are designed to represent overarching themes, experiences, and struggles that come from all kinds of chronic illnesses.Â

Despite the cries of your grumbling stomach, your curiosity got the better of you and towards the magic store you go. As you step into the shop, immediately, the beam from the morning sun is snuffed out and you're welcomed by the smell of burning sage. You've read about this before: something about getting rid of negative energy and restoring balance.
In the darkness, many things illuminate. The faint blue glow of a crystal orb, pulsing on a three legged table that seems to reposition itself every so slightly every time you blink. Countless bottles of potions with odds and ends inside, with colors from the gradient of the rainbow glimmering. Sleepy chirps from snoozing birds create a soothing lullaby.
At the center of the room, sits a creaky old wooden table with stacks upon stacks of books and herbs you know not the names of. A book opens on its own, flipping through many sheets before finally settling on a particular page. A silhouette hovers behind it as the book sets itself on a stand.
Teal eyes glance up from the literature, and with a quick flick of their wand, an equally bluish-green tint luminates from the tip. "Oh, greetings! You're just in time-"
Introducing Mindy, the Keeper of Magic! She's harmless, really! The task was thrusted upon her at a young age as she discovered she had an aptitude for complex magic. She happily collects odds and ends from all over the world, regardless of whether they're imbued with good or otherwise. Don't ask about the accident of '06. The townsfolk have never let her live that down.

The patreon pin of the month for October 2023 is a remake of a snarky co. original. The second pin I ever designed was the Do No Harm Pin, and five and half years later I'm giving it a redesign. My skills and aesthetic as a pin maker have changed over time so I really enjoy giving old designs a fresh updated look.

Criteria for Patron Only TiersÂ
If you joined the Snarky Co. Patreon from the All Out of Spoons campaign, to get a discounted patron only tier, please remember that to be eligible for the discounted patreon tiers, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Be part of a pin of the month tier ($2 patreon tiers are not eligible for discounted patreon only tiers)
- You must be part off a pin of the month tier for both October 2023 and November 2023.
You will have to provide your patreon associated email in your AOS survey where we will cross check that you meet the criteria. If you don't meet the criteria you'll be asked to switch into one of the regular pledge levels, and pay the difference in your survey.

Your support absolutely blew this project past its first two stretch goals. We can now fully cover the manufacturing costs of not only the Yuki Onna but also all four bird pins that Carrie Alyson designed for this project. Thank you for putting your faith into this pin collection!
So, what's next? Our upcoming stretch goals bring Folkgore back to its roots. The extra funds will enable us to produce an illustrated zine that at 10k will be a free PDF for all backers and at 12k will be a printed booklet automatically included with your pledge. Some of my fellow publishing industry friends are on deck ready to make this zine the best it can be.
Beyond that, as you've seen on the main campaign page, Carrie and I are committed to bringing added value to your pledges, offering more free backer rewards and some new pin designs for you to vote on and grow this collection further.
