whoaaaa thank you everyone!! i'm extremely pleased!! the campaign still runs until the end of may, so be sure to tell your friends and keep it going. i added stretch goals! i'll share them here too. some are secrets, but the BIGGEST stretch goal is not cuz it's the most frequently asked for thing - hard cover books. if we wanna do em, we need.... 1400 to do it :x a long long road!!!
but before we get there, just as thanks for breaking the 400 goal, i'm going to add art of 4 new never-before-seen birds to the books before they go out.
as you can see, there are a few other stretch goals waiting in the wings (ha!) as well. if we can break 800 and 1000 respectively, new birds on the branch will be revealed along with their rewards :vÂ
the seed money book tier is GONE! i need to think long and hard about if i have it in me to open more of them... for now let me just bask in the joy of being able to print some birds :O thank you everyone

so, backerkit needs to approve projects to launch. that's something i didn't know when i planned to launch yesterday! but then i got approved, so, with only a day of delay i'm kicking us off now lmfao

for folks realizing twitter blocks backerkit: try suggesting folks "search on backerkit dotcom for Queer Birds" cuz that works too and won't get caught by elon's greedy filter i don't think.
yesterday i learned that i'm to be including shipping in my pledge numbers - that's cool, i wasn't sure either way so erred on the side of caution and set the prices to reflect it. HOWEVER i will be adding an ad-on for folks outside the US & canada who will need extra shipping costs.
a great suggestion was to add interior photos - i'm ON IT. i just need a few hours and good weather.
i vaguely mentioned stretch goals in my FAQ . i'm still sussing out how much things like hardcover books would cost but i CAN say that i have the FIRST stretch goal in mind already - adding a few extra birds to the book! but yeah, gimme a few to work out the logistics since i'd need to use an entirely different printer for hardcover copies.

So, we need your help! Moving to BackerKit means we have a harder time connecting with our usual Kickstarter audience. And I’m pouring all I can into marketing but we are not a huge business at all, and we don’t have the budget giant projects have.
This is where you come in. 💕 We have created an Action Achievement Goal - that I attached to this update. To achieve this goal you must share the link in the achievement goal 500 times. I know it’s a big ask! But we have a big reward attached! We will unlock the coveted Lucky Chicken Card.
This magnificent card was created by the one and only Amelia Leonards and it is a BackerKit EXCLUSIVE card. This means ONLY BACKERS OF THIS PROJECT will ever own this highly collectible card! We have never done this before and are extremely excited!!!! It’s a way of rewarding our Backers and thanking them in an extra special way. It also is an extra gig for artists so it’s a win for everyone!
We set our publishing goal with enough to print and fulfill everything and give our artists 50.00 each for their art. This is way less than they deserve, which is why we have built artist paybumps in. Our first paybump is at 75k and we hope to hit as many pay bumps as possible before the end of this campaign on the 23rd of May. We have 20 days to go!!!

I am super excited to let you know that we are able to upgrade BOTH the cover of the EXCLUSIVE Backerkit-only calendar as well as the Spreadbook cover to have gold holo foil to match everything else! It is going to look so classy! Here is a mockup of both designs.
The Calendar and Spreadbook are both available as limited addons if you want to add them to your pledge! We will only be purchasing a small amount as to keep it very limited and collectible. The calendar will be for 2025.
For the very first time ever we will be offering an EXCLUSIVE (meaning you can only get this in the campaign) spread book featuring the art from this gorgeous Anniversary deck. We will have a spread from every tarot deck we have done, two wild card and Oracle spreads, all 4 elementals and all 4 witches of the seasons (special cards commissioned just for our anniversary deck). The book will be letter sized, and SPIRAL so it will lay flat. Also, for the very first time we will be offering a Backerkit-Exclusive Calendar and voting on each month!
